Of course, a point of departure always signals a new beginning. The funeral of Violet Ursula Walwyn in February of 2018 made a huge impact on me. For the first time, I realized how many people’s lives were touched by Violet and how many people wanted to be better people because of her live and testimony. I was reminded of the fragility of life and for the first time in my life, I saw Cancer as serious personal threat. I always thought that I would die of complications from a stroke or a massive heart attack – advertised by my consistently irresponsible 200/150 B.P. readings. Now I had a number of other intriguing possibilities.
Strangely, this was inspirational. I don’t exercise, eat properly or get enough sleep and yet I am now attending the funerals of much younger colleagues and friends. I realized that I still had the opportunity to re-visit all of the things that my Mother had taught me and to ‘re-live’ my life with some of those perspectives in mind.
I am a Realtor and it was the height of the Spring Market of 2018 but an opportunity came up to visit the birthplace of my mother. I decided to embrace it. Nevis, West Indies. Introduce yourself to me please.
